I mostly crochet amigurumi. My proudest crochet creation is this axolotl head, an original pattern of mine:
I've woven several small wall-hangings on my little home-made loom. Here they are so far.
This was my first try at weaving. I made it with a loom cut out of cardstock, 'cause I'm a Professional™️. I was following instructions in the back of a ✨Scholastic Magazine✨ (I think?) about the Mayans from 6th grade.
This is my first one on like an actual-ish loom, ie. a canvas with nails in it (wow!). I practised some basic techniques like ✨fringe✨ (at the bottom), shapes, and multiple colors.
This one was a gift for my dad. It was my first time trying to weave a physical scene. It's a bit simplistic, and honestly looks a bit Minecraft-esque, especially at the bottom. The part I really like is the sunset. Filling in the sunset after doing the mountains took FOREVER 'cause I kept getting it wrong, but in the end it was worth it I think.
Look at me trying to do some more advanced shapes! I think this is the first one where I started with a paper drawing and marked the warps based on that. It looks really flat and unnatural though.
This is my most recent one. The tree was much more intrucate in the paper drawing but I soon realized the limits of the craft and my patience. I drew the moon on the paper using a compass and a straightedge. The top of the moon is just slightly off and it bothers me. I was considering adding stars, but that never really happened. It's hard to see, but I used a fancy ✨soumak✨ stitch at the bottom and top.
